How HonniHil® works

Among other mechanisms, the physiological process of erection involves the release of nitric oxide (NO) in blood vessels of the corpus cavernosum as a result of sexual stimulation. Corpus cavernosum is a spongy smooth muscle of the penis. Increased blood flow and retention within the corpus cavernosum result in an erect penis. Nitric oxide activates an enzyme guanylate cyclase which results in increased conversion of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) to cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). The increased level of cGMP leads to smooth muscle relaxation in blood vessels supplying the corpus cavernosum, resulting in increased blood flow and an erection. HonniHil® belongs to a class of drugs called the phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5) inhibitors.

HonniHil®, like other PDE5 inhibitors blocks the degradation of cGMP by the enzyme PDE5. This results in increased blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. HonniHil® is unique and differs from most other PDE5 inhibitors for the very long duration action (almost 2 days) which offers the opportunity to achieve and maintain erection adequate for sexual intercourse for almost 2 days. This does not mean a continuously erect penis for the almost 2 days. The mode of action, briefly described here, shows that HonniHil® will produce erection only with sexual stimulation. PDE5 inhibitors do not throw the penis into erect mode automatically without sexual stimulation. With a single tablet of HonniHil®, men with ED have the opportunity of achieving and maintaining strong erections that are adequate for a satisfactory sexual intercourse over a long period.  With HonniHil®, there is no rush!!
